Inipi, Temazcal or sweatlodge are all names for an ancient purification process working with the fire, water, earth and air. It looks like a sauna, but it isn’t. Before we enter we say for all of my relations to acknowledge that our own purification will benefit and transform all of our relationships. We are purifying in service to all beings. Inside of the Inipi we open the door four times. During the rounds water is poured on hot stones and we sing to the four directions.
